From My Studio to Strange Music – The True Story Behind “Soldier” with C-Bo and X-Raided

The Day the Beat for “Soldier” Came to Life

It started like any other session in California. C-Bo was in the studio with me. No pre-made beat, no demo — just me behind the keys and him in the booth telling me exactly what he needed.

I kicked it off with the drums. Heavy, swinging 808 and a crisp snare that hit right in the pocket. C-Bo nodded and said “Yeah, that’s it — add this.” So I added it. Then he’d write a line, record a hook, and come back to the booth: “Take that melody out… bring the guitar up… make the hi-hat breathe more.”

We built the entire beat together in real time. Every layer, every sound, every change happened while C-Bo was writing and recording his verse and hooks on the spot. It was raw, collaborative, and exactly how real music gets made.

We Sat on It for Over a Year

After we finished recording, the track sat for more than a year. Life moves fast — sessions, new beats, new artists. Then one day C-Bo called me.

“I sent it to X-Raided.”

A few months later I got the finished version back. X-Raided had jumped on it, the mix was done, and they were shooting a music video. Directed by Big Court. Dropping under Strange Music’s official channel.

I clicked the link and there it was — the beat I built live in the studio with C-Bo, now a full Strange Music release with X-Raided and C-Bo on it.
